The Park Lane Copenhagen story
At Strandvejen 203 in Hellerup you will find our Boutique Hotel, Park Lane Copenhagen. The building has undergone an extensive renovation, yet it preserves a captivating and rich history.
THE STORY OF STRAND TEATRET
In the early 20th century, the premises of Park Lane Copenhagen were home to the local cinema, Strand Teatret. During those times you could get a movie ticket for just 0.55 DKK, equivalent to 0.08 USD.
Strand Teatret closed in the 1970’s but the cinema still holds a nostalgic and valuable place in Hellerup’s cultural history. We aspire to preserve its legacy within the essence of our hotel.
PRESERVING A STORIED LEGACY
In addition to its history as a cinema, the property also functioned as a local hotel in recent years. We have made an effort to preserve its historical significance and unique charm, which is reflected in the retention of certain details within the premises.
The former ballroom has been transformed into suites, where the original stucco and some chandeliers have been meticulously restored. Additionally, the original wooden panels and the ceiling height on the suite floor have been retained.
